AI Visibility

When a buyer asks an assistant who supplies what you sell, a handful of companies get named. Most companies have never seen whether they are one of them. That number is measurable, and it's usually the first new thing we can tell a business about its own market position.

What Is AI Visibility?

Whether answer engines can retrieve your company, understand what it does and find something on your site worth quoting. It decides whether you appear inside the answer a buyer reads, as opposed to the list of blue links underneath it.

It isn't the same as ranking, and that is the part that surprises people.

Why This Is No Longer the Same Question as Ranking

Because ranking first stopped guaranteeing being the source an answer cites. Ahrefs measured the overlap between Google's top ten and the pages AI Overviews actually cite at 76 percent in July 2025, falling to 38 percent since. Answers also began drawing more heavily on video, community and reference platforms, which Google documents as intended behavior for its AI features in Search. The next step goes further: personal AI agents that act on the answer, covered in what Meta Muse means for businesses.

Ranking is still a strong input. It no longer decides the outcome. A company can hold position one for its category term and be absent from the answer sitting above it.

How You Find Out Where You Stand

By asking the engines. We run the questions your buyers actually ask across multiple answer engines and record whether you're named, how prominently, in what context and which sources the answer used instead. The method is written up step by step in how to measure AI visibility.

The last part is the useful part. Knowing a competitor was cited is trivia. Knowing which specific page was cited turns a vague ambition into a list of things to go and earn.

Measurement runs on a schedule, because the answers move.

Is This a Separate Service From SEO?

No. On its own it doesn't work, so we don't sell it that way.

The technical foundations, entity clarity and topical depth that earn citations are the same work that earns rankings. We sell one program. AI visibility is how it's measured early and how it's proven, not a product with its own price.

There is a practical reason as well as a principled one. A company that becomes beautifully cited with no organic presence, no working conversion path and no measurement has bought a metric rather than a result.

Why We Lead With It

Because it is the fastest evidence available. In our own engagements, entity corrections land almost immediately and mention rate commonly moves within 30 to 60 days, while rankings and the organic traffic behind them generally take 6 to 12 months to tell you anything. Those windows are Method 21's observation across client work rather than a published benchmark, and we report them as such.

That matters when you are deciding whether the work is worth continuing. A program measured only on rankings asks for patience through the entire evaluation period. One that also measures citations has something real to show while the slower signals develop.

What Actually Moves It

LayerThe question it answers
RetrievabilityCan a crawler that doesn't run JavaScript read the page at all, and are you in the indexes each engine reads from
Entity clarityCan engines tell who you are, with the same facts everywhere they appear
Citable evidenceIs any passage on your site worth quoting when someone asks who does this

That framework is Generative Search Signals, and it is the mechanism inside the program. For which specific tactics hold up under evidence and which have no mechanism at all, see what actually gets you cited.

About Guarantees

Nobody can guarantee you a place in an AI answer. The engines change what they say from week to week and no agency has a hand on that.

What we can do is measure where you stand now, fix what's keeping you out and show you the movement month to month.

Who This Is For

Companies with a considered, technical sale where buyers research before making contact: manufacturers, energy and oilfield services, industrial equipment and technical B2B.

It is also where the ceiling is highest. These companies are frequently excellent technically and close to invisible online, so the distance between where they are and where they could be is wide.

Call (832) 429-6983 to find out where you currently stand. Most companies have never seen the number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mostly the same work with a distinct layer on top. Shared: technical foundations, entity clarity, topical depth. Added: passage-level structure, corroboration across independent sources and presence on the platforms those engines draw from. We treat it as one program because splitting it produces two half-programs. The terms themselves are defined in AEO, GEO and SEO: what each term means.

The measurement is where every engagement starts, and it isn't sold as a standalone subscription. If you want to know where you stand before committing to anything, start with a call.

Not directly. Schema helps engines understand entities and is worth having error-free, but the evidence that it drives citation is weak. Passage quality and corroboration are what move that number.

No. There is no mechanism for it. Models don't learn from the prompts users type, search queries aren't a training signal and sessions don't persist.
