Houston Web Design

Method 21 builds websites in Houston, mostly for companies whose product takes explaining. That shapes what we build: sites designed to carry specification and detail, not sites designed to look good with three sentences of placeholder text.

What we actually build

Marketing sites, technical product and specification sites, e-commerce, and web applications where a business process needs to live online. Mostly WordPress, some Shopify, custom where a platform would do more harm than good.

What gets decided at build time

The things that are cheap to get right during a build and expensive to retrofit.

DecisionWhy it matters later
Server-side renderingDecides whether AI crawlers can read the page at all. Most do not run JavaScript
Response timeSlow pages get abandoned by crawlers on timeout and by people on impatience
Semantic structureEngines extract passages from structure. Headings used for size break the outline
URL structureChanging it later triggers relearning and volatility
AccessibilityStraightforward during a build, awkward afterwards
Template systemWhether page twenty-one still looks right without a designer

The ten-second test for the first row: open View Source rather than Inspect on a key page and look for your headline in the raw HTML. If it is not there, the page is empty as far as those systems are concerned.

Why the search side matters to a build

Because we run the search programmes on the sites we build, so the decisions get made together rather than discovered afterwards by whoever inherits the site. A site built without them is not broken. It just starts every subsequent search programme in a hole.

Do we need a rebuild?

Often not. A site with sound structure and a slow, cluttered configuration usually needs repair, and repair costs a fraction. The honest signals for a rebuild are a theme that cannot be updated without breaking things, content locked in a format nothing else reads, or a structure that fights every addition.

We would rather tell you it is three specific fixes than sell a rebuild.

Frequently asked questions

Do we own the site?

Yes. The code, the hosting account, the domain and the content. Nothing is built on a proprietary platform only we can maintain.

Can our team edit it?

That is the intent. Content, pages and images editable by a marketing person; structural changes are development work, and we are clear which is which before launch.

What happens to our rankings during a rebuild?

They wobble. Even a flawless migration causes temporary volatility while engines relearn the site. A complete redirect map and not reorganising everything at once is what limits the damage.
